Offroading It!
Ok so I’ve been mentally travelling off the beaten track, and suffering from a bumpy road lately. Plus I went through a rather nasty bout of The Female Monthly Plague after the previous post, but things have settled hormonally.
[Interlude: I just patiently informed my partner that should he electrocute himself whilst installing an outside yard light I would hit him with a broom until he's better. I'm a giver.]
Hmmm due to the sudden increase in swearing coming from various electrical outlets around the house, I think my blogging will have to be postponed. All power will soon probably be lost! Ah well. Just currently testing my possible return to blogging.
Little thought for the day: How would I know if I suffered from something more than just ‘clinical depression’ and more like manic depression or bi polar or personality disorder or something????

Hello , found you via twitter via neonbubble aka Mark.
Just thought I would say hello
I am training to be a counsellor at the mo, so have a million links to a million different mental health subjects. So I had a look through some of them for ya.
In regards to knowing if it was more than clinical depression, I can only suggest that your GP should be able to help you with that, if they are someone you feel you can be honest with.
Its easy to get overwhelmed with all the information on the internet and not diagnose yourself with a bit of everything.
This is a good description though

Hope that helped a bit?
Toodles
Hey Claire!
Nice to see a face about. This place could use the female company :p
Thanks for the link and the info! I’ve done a bit of counselling training myself a few years ago. Nothing major though, did ABC Counselling (or somesuch) and level 2 counselling something or other. Physician heal thyself eh?
I am doing the NCFE person centred style stuff, Carl Rogers is our major Guru
I am up to level 4, diploma stage, so nothing to heavy yet.
I know what mean about physician heal thyself, indeedy! I feel like I have been in intense counselling for three years now, just doing this course. The more you ‘know’ the more you think is wrong with you. Then it all seems to balance out again. Ups and downs of life I suppose.
I am thinking of doing an Art Therapy degree next, or at least something involving art therapy so I hope I can ask you art like questions?
Level 4’s pretty wicked! Go you. Yeah I’ve thought about Art Therapy as a profession, but when I talked to my counselling tutor about it and looked into it I found out that there are only something like 12 uni’s in the UK that do the course, and none around me. Just became implausable. Plus I’m probably too selfish
As for asking any arty questions then I’m more than happy to share my infinate wisdom [please sense sarcasm now].
Good to have you stop by the other day, despite my current mood of doom and gloom!
Right I’m off for a nose to see what I’ve missed
Well the course/degree in art therapy I really want to do is in London and costs a fortune, so it may be a while before I get to do it
In the meantime I will be incorporating art therapy as much as possible in my own client work and looking for short courses.
